It was great to be joined by a legend of the game and to swap insights as to how to keep developing, challenging ourselves to take more decisive actions and achieve more goals.
Who are the main players to watch?
Even though they have been around for many years, People and Planet are both now starting to see a resurgence. For decades they had not been in a great place whilst Profit seemed to be on a constant upward trajectory.
The team is now a lot more balanced and that is really improving overall results in so many areas. People has benefited from a move towards greater diversity, inclusion, equality and equity. Also, employee ownership, more investment in corporate giving, pro bono work, volunteering and training as well as additional mental health recognition and care has helped achieve goals.
How did you achieve such impressive improvements?
A lot of the success can be attributed to a new B Corp training programme recently introduced to the team. This delivered a number of quick wins and helped Planet to identify ways to improve fitness in many areas including carbon emissions, green energy and local purchasing with significantly more support from People.
The B Corp programme also helped People to really gain valuable insights and wisdom to help with focus and decision making and deliver on much needed goals.
How is Profit doing?
Profit is actually doing better than ever. With the increase in performance from People and Planet, Profit has also benefitted as a result of increased loyalty, staff retention, new business wins and risk reduction.
What advice would you give to your competitors?
All I can say to other teams is that our B Corp programme has taken a strong team and made it even stronger, more resilient and delivered significant benefit.
