Doing nothing?

I woke up this morning contemplating what action I might take today to make the world a better place – to be a force for good.

There will be a general election later this year. International aid and support for the world’s poorest is unlikely to make it to anywhere near the top of the agenda as people in the UK continue to struggle with the cost of living crisis.

So what can we do, what can I do, what can you do?

I was grateful for an email I received yesterday evening from Global Citizen prompting me to email my local MP to encourage him to challenge the cut which would affect the world’s poorest.

A brief and simple action that I hope, collectively with others, might make a positive difference.

But beyond this, how can I make a difference, as a member of the community in which I live and also at work, how can my business be a force for good?

B Corp is a great way for any business to measure the social and environmental impact.

Whether its carbon footprint, diversity and inclusion, fair pay, engaging and benefitting all stakeholders not just shareholders, B Corp enables companies to discover, measure and improve their impact.

Whoever you are and wherever you work, ask yourself these simple questions.

If not us, who?

If not now, when?

I would encourage you to start where you are and use what you have.

Together we can make a difference and be the change that is so desperately needed.

If you run a business and want to know how B Corp can help your company be a force for good and join a global community, please get in touch. It would be great to see what we can do together.

Don’t be someone who does nothing, shrugs and looks the other way. Take action today and join us on the journey.
